The Greatest Of These
“The Greatest Of These” is a project designed to renovate and revive a sense of community in a site that was previously abandoned in the neighborhood. We designed a series of basketball courts and murals for this abandoned school/court area. We believe that activities are a great way to bring people together, and this site was perfect for the job. The theme of this project revolves around the youth having a hand in building the environment around them. They do this by painting the environment which we show thematically as well as with origami pieces.
Abstract Figures
These abstract figures vary in color, size, weight, etc. Despite thi,s they are still close together. These shapes were made to resemble a community of people that are all different yet are all still human at the end of the day.

Wall Designs
Messages of motivation were spread on the walls of the school. The idea behind this was to give people that pass by a message to make them smile or to keep going. Kids from the community are depicted in this image, painting these letters so it reads as a letter to us from the youth to love and hope etc. There are origami figures all around these piece. The idea behind origami is that as long as you are creative enough you can create anything you put your mind to. This makes it an affordable way to bring your dreams to life. These birds carry the hope and love that the youth brings with them.
Bleachers
We continue this idea of origami by creating custom bleachers, more unique than any you’ll find. These bleachers share the color palette of the courts while having extremely unique blocky textures resembling that of the origami that’s depicted throughout the entire work.
Courts
The courts combine both the abstract figures and the origami in one piece. Given that the main theme of this project is community, we wanted to make the courts resemble that. These figures are integrated throughout all six courts, overseeing our world. There is origami hidden in the courts, much like an iceberg. Each court is made to be a part of a bigger image.
